Welcome to a new nurse

At Belmont Medical Centre, we are very pleased to welcome a new nurse to our staff. Lou is joining Lynn in the nursing team. She will be working 3 days a week. She is a practice nurse who brings with her years of expertise in women’s health. Lou lives locally with her husband and teenage children. Lou has replaced Terry who is now retired after working for 24 years at Belmont Medical Centre.

Non funded influenza vaccines

From Tuesday 28th April – purchased influenza vaccination will be available for our patients who are aged 3 years to 64 years. We are continuing to give funded vaccines to our over 65 years of age and those under 65 years with chronic conditions Please phone the surgery to make a nurse booking. The number of patients in the surgery at one time will be limited.

  • Important: Influenza vaccination for children aged 6–35 months (AFLURIA® QUAD JUNIOR) is currently available for children with a condition eligible to receive funded influenza vaccination.

Bookings for video consultations and telephone consultations

Our Patients can now resume appointment bookings through Connectmed for face to face, phone or video consultations with our doctors. Once an appointment is made for a video consultation you will be sent an email with a link for doxy.me Choose the appropriate web browser. If you are on an iPhone use Safari, on android use Chrome, on Windows and Macs you can use Chrome, Firefox or Safari. Allow camera and audio access. You will enter a virtual waiting room and your GP will pick up your consult when they are able to. Your appointment time is only an indication. If we can’t find you in the virtual waiting room we will of course phone you. Either of these consultation options will be at your normal consultation fee.

Open for Routine Vaccinations, Dressings etc

  • We are still open for flu vaccinations, childhood vaccines, wound dressings etc. You may also phone for a repeat of your regular medications and this can be faxed to your local pharmacy. This will be for your 3 monthly medications up to 2 weeks before your medication will run out only, to conserve supply of drugs. All our consultations and prescription fees will remain in place
  • Flu vaccine appointments with the nurse will be to prioritise those over 65 years of age and those with a chronic illness. Numbers of patients in the surgery at one time for flu vaccinations will be limited.
