Belmont Medical Centre was established by two Devonport doctors, Dr Christopher Diggle and Dr Jennifer Waddell on 9 May 1994. Since then the practice has served the Devonport Penninsula with support from Comprehensive Care PHO. All aspects of health are provided to all members of our community.
Dr Jennifer Waddell MBChB, Dip Obs, FRNZCGP
Jennifer qualified from Auckland Medical School in 1985. She has undertaken post graduate training in general practice and obstetrics. She started in General Practice on the North Shore in 1991. Currently she is practicing part time in General Practice and since August 2011. She is married with a grown up family.
Dr Joanna Hopkins MBChB (Otago), FRNZCGP
Joanna qualified from Otago Medical School in 1986. She has undertaken post graduate training in general practice and has been in part time General Practice since 1993. Prior to this she did hospital based Physician training. She is married to an ENT surgeon, they have 3 adult children.
Part time registered nurse with a experience in most general practice problems. She was a Plunket nurse for some years. Now in General Practice she performs immunisations, general nursing assessments and supports our medical staff with her abilities in great communication . Lynn is our Asthma educator for both adults and children, she also administers Aclasta infusions here at the surgery. She is available for 2 days a week for any questions you might have.
After being a nurse for 49 years, 24 years at Belmont Medical Terry has now retired. She intents to spend more time exploring New Zealand with her husband and spending more time with her family. We wish her well and thank her for her years of dedication to our patient’s care.
We are very pleased to welcome a new nurse to our staff. Lou is joining Lynn in the the nursing team . She is a practice nurse who brings with her years of expertise in women’s health. Lou lives locally with her husband and teenage children. She is available for 2 days a week for any questions you might have.
The face and voice of Belmont Medical Centre. A very experienced receptionist and administrator who was receptionist for 27 years at Hauraki Medical Centre before coming to Belmont Medical Centre. We are very lucky to have her. She has a great understanding of what you need and will work us hard to give it to you. This role is supported by our other staff in a great spirit of co-operation and team work.
Our newest receptionist and financial assistant is Louise. She has previous experience in reception work and is a delightful and capable addition to the Belmont Medical Centre practice team
