Belmont Medical Centre has been providing health and medical care for the local community since 1994. It is friendly place where patients can be assure of receiving quality healthcare from a dedicated and caring team of doctors, nurses and support staff. Belmont Medical Centre provides general practice healthcare for everyone in the community from newborns through to older people and everyone in-between. We welcome everyone at Belmont Medical Centre.


Dr Jennifer Waddell MBChB, Dip Obs, FRNZCGP
Jennifer qualified from Auckland Medical School in 1985. She has undertaken post graduate training in general practice and obstetrics. She started in General Practice on the North Shore in 1991 and currently works part-time at Belmont Medical Centre the practice she founded back in 1994. Dr Waddell is married with a grown up family.


Dr Joanna Hopkins MBChB (Otago), FRNZCGP
Joanna qualified from Otago Medical School in 1986. She has undertaken post graduate training in general practice. Prior to working in general practice Dr Hopkins did hospital based physician training. Joanna is married to an Ear Nose and Throat Surgeon and has three adult children.



Lynn – is a registered nurse with experience in most general practice health concerns. She was a Plunket nurse for some years. Now in General Practice she performs immunisations, general nursing assessments and supports our medical staff with her abilities in great communication . Lynn is our Asthma educator for both adults and children, she also administers Aclasta infusions here at the surgery. She is available for 2 days a week for any questions you might have.

Lou – We are very pleased to welcome a new nurse to our staff. Lou is joining Lynn in the the nursing team . She is a practice nurse who brings with her years of expertise in women’s health. Lou lives locally with her husband and teenage children. She is available for 3 days a week for any questions you might have. Lou is a qualified nurse smear taker, who also administers Aclasta and Iron infusions here at the surgery. You are welcome to book in with Lou on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.


Christine – The face and voice of Belmont Medical Centre. A very experienced receptionist and administrator who was receptionist for 27 years at Hauraki Medical Centre before coming to Belmont Medical Centre. We are very lucky to have her. She has a great understanding of what you need and will work us hard to give it to you. This role is supported by our other staff in a great spirit of co-operation and team work.

Sanaz Rezaeefard – Practice Manager

Sanaz has over eight years experience in the New Zealand health sector after gaining a bachelors degree in nursing in Iran, where she also worked as a registered nurse and clinical manager. After moving to NZ in 2010 and having a young family she began a career in health management. As a cancer and bone marrow transplant survivor, Sanaz strongly advocates for continuity of care, surveillance testing and early diagnosis. She is committed to ensuring the best care is provided for patients to improve quality of life. When she’s not at work Sanaz enjoys painting, cooking and spending time with her family.

Ana Ceia – Healthcare Assistant and Receptionist

We are delighted to have Ana join the Belmont Medical Centre team. Ana is originally from the United Kingdom where she spent 16 years working in Healthcare.
